Hello world, my name is Maxime.

I know I am a little late in making my introduction, but I just came home from the NICU a few weeks ago & I have been trying to get adjusted to so many changes here - so have my parents + Basti my big brother.

Mami said that April 2nd was my due date & this is the day they brought me home from the hospital, where I spent 10 unexpected weeks since my arrival 01.16.2023 learning to breathe on my own, eat on my own & continuing to grow strong enough without the continued help of doctors & machines. My favorite nurse Hannah was my first Valentine, but I am told she won’t be my last. All I can say is I am grateful for her & everyone’s love & support, and I am happy to be home.

I missed out on a lot of cuddles so my happy place is sleeping in mami, daddy or Nonna’s arms. Basti takes really good care of me too - always giving me hugs and kisses & he is always happy to see me. I don’t mind being his little brother and sharing our birthday weeks together forever - I know he won’t mind either - he is so good at sharing!

Thank you for for being there for mami, daddy & me while I was in the hospital. They would come tell me of all the people who loved me, were praying for me, who checked on us, sent us food and gifts & who offered an ear and a shoulder during our most difficult days. I know I am here because of the love of many - in & out of the hospital - and I cannot wait to meet you all.
